Introduction:
Saija Finance Private Limited (SAIJA) is an NBFC-MFI (Non Banking Financial Company-Micro Finance Institution) working with some of the poorest population segments in the most difficult and under-served geographies of India. Saija started lending in November 2007 as an NGO and obtained an NBFC License in June 2008. It is presently the only NBFC-MFI which is headquartered out of Patna, Bihar.
The institution currently operates out of seven branches in Bihar, India and serves over 42,000 clients. It is already in the process of commencing its operations in the state of Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. It has foreign equity investments from Accion International, a lending global microfinance entity and IFC,CDC backed Pragati Fund.
Saija is a profit making organization and aims to reach over 50,000 clients by the end of current financial year and over one and a half lakh clients by March 2015.

REASON FOR HIRE:
The COO is a new position and will be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling all the day-to- day activities of the MFI and for leading to achieve Saija Finance’s business plan. The COO will be working closely with the MD and the strategic planning team. This individual is responsible for the management of the MFI's activities to achieve rapid and responsible growth, ensure significant social impact and long-term sustainability. Major functions reporting to the position of Chief Operating Officer are branch operations, sales and credit, HR and admin and technology. In this capacity, the COO will provide a high-level of customer relations and service and ensure compliance with MFI policies and procedures.
