Caritas Switzerland, a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1901, is one of Switzerland’s respected organizations in the areas of international development cooperation and humanitarian aid. Caritas Switzerland engages in long-term development cooperation, disaster risk reduction as well as emergency aid.

Programme Implementation as outlined in the Country Programme:
• The goals and objectives of the India programme until end of 2016 are defined. The activities of Caritas Switzerland in India with local partner organisations are oriented towards concentration and focussing on a manageable project portfolio needing close monitoring, coordinating, supporting, harmonising and networking of projects to become programme lines. Cross-section issues need a strong follow-up. Especially peace and conflict need additional attention.
