The Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) represents research based national pharmaceutical companies. Collectively, they account for almost 85 per cent of the private sector investment in pharmaceutical research and development. They contribute 60 per cent of the country’s exports of drugs and pharmaceuticals and service over 40 per cent of the domestic market. The pace of reforms in the pharmaceutical industry in India is beginning to accelerate. This will result in increased competition in the domestic market besides offering greater opportunities for Indian companies in the international market. This transition will require an up gradation of regulatory and price management framework in India, as also better prepare Indian companies to be competitive in the international arena.
India Pharmaceutical Alliance is seeking to hire their Associate Secretary General – Pricing & Administration. It is a new role that has been created to cater to their pricing & policy framework and oversee the operations of the organisation. The incumbent will be responsible for dealing with the government, civil society organisation and put together the framework for pricing. S/He is also expected to strategize, conceptualize and build impact of framework on existing policy. This position reports in to the Secretary General of Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance and it is based out of Mumbai.
